PRT Commander Visited Herat Fire Department

Today the PRT Commander, Col. Michele Brandonisio, and the CIMIC PRT Commander, Cap. Manuel Solastri have visited the Fire Brigade, in Herat City.

The PRT representative has been accompanied by Dr. Roberto Faccani, Manager of Civil Protection in Bassa Romagna, that carried as symbolic gift some signaling discs for Herat Police.

Dr. Faccani is engaged since many years in population’s and local Authorities’ support. In the past he promoted many materials’ donations needed from local Institutions, such as ambulances, Fire Brigade and Traffic Police equipmentsi, attrezzature sanitarie, farmaci, giocattoli e vestiario, humanitarian aid for orphanages, sanitary equipment, medicines, toys and clothing.

Insofar Fire Brigade visit was the right opportunity to collect local Institutions’ needs concerning materials and equipments, for which the PRT during this year has already realized a project through the purchase of accessories for the hydrants of fire brigade’s trucks, for an expense of 1.330 euro. The other needs will be transferred in Italy, where Dr. Faccani himself, trough cooperation of civil Protection, Emilia-Romagna Region and Municipal Police Corps of Bagnacavallo, is going to find out the necessary resources. Suddenly the donations will be leaded with cooperation of Italian PRT, as usual.

During his visit Dr. Faccani is going to encounter the parents of Nazifa, an Afghan child affected by lymphoma of Hodgkin, that he temporarily brought in Italy to do all he could in order to help her. The aim was to let her have the essential treatment to save her life. In fact the child couldn’t still receive today that kind of aid in Afghanistan, despite the constant growth of local sanitary structures, assisted by usual cooperation of Italian PRT.
