Inauguration of Artificial Insemination Center by Italian PRT

Herat, September the 15^th 2009.

Today has been organized the inauguration of one between the many projects that Italian PRT is realizing in Herat’s province. The project that has been concluded today was constituted by the reconstruction of an Artificial Insemination Centre in Guzara District of Herat Province.

In detail the project was constituted by the refurbishment of an old building by removing existing frames, electric cables, internal and external plasters, realization of new ones included painting and water proofing of the roof. The project provided even removal of aged technical plants of the building and laying in work of new ones.

It was enclosed also the construction of new buildings for the artificial impregnation with bathroom, latrine, septic tank and refurbishment of technical plant for well machinery.

The Italian representative was composed by PRT Commander, Col. Michele Brandonisio, and the CIMIC-PRT Commander, Cap. Manuel Solastri. Local Authorities, constituted by Eng. Esmahil Naidar Zada, Chief of Agriculture Department and many others, have shown their appreciation for Italian Contingent’s perform in general and for Civil Military Cooperation in particular.

All the local representatives have taken the opportunity to thank Italian PRT for the extraordinary contribution to their Country’s reconstruction, with appreciation words that reflected their homage to Italian military’s operate in cooperation activities.

From March 2009 up today the Italian PRT has realized only in Rural Rehabilitation sector 4,8 km of water network in Morcha Kahna (Karokh District), 49 well in Injil, Kosh Kohna, Ghorian, Koshan and Zenda Jan Districts, the Rehabilitation of RRD main offices in Heart City, 320 m f gabion wallm Rehabilitation of RRD main offices in Herat r s protecting an irrigation channel in Nayesk (Shindand District), 65 m of culvert in the centre of Shindand, the rehabilitation of a research farm in Urdu Kahn and a quarantine plant protection centre, both in Injil District. Moreover many other projects managed from Italian PRT are still on going today. From year 2005 up today the PRT has realized in all Herat’s Province water networks, 647 wells, 122 km of roads and has donated various tons of saffron’s bulbs and fertilizer to discourage opium’s cultivation.
